Tomer Shamay
Biology Student at Hebrew University
My name is Tomer Shamay. I am 25 years old. I am currently a biology student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem finishing up my undergraduate studies with plans to pursue a master’s and doctorate in the field. I specialize in animal behaviour and studied bat behaviour for a year and a half in a cutting-edge lab at my university. I took several courses in evolution, psychology, and animal behaviour. I served in the Israeli equivalent of the Navy Seals as a boat mechanic for 3 years as my mandatory army service. I also have a year’s worth of experience conducting a men’s group at my university.
Currently, I live in Israel, but I grew up on the East Coast in Baltimore County. I have been in a committed relationship with my partner for a bit more than 2 years now with plans to get married and move to Japan within the next 2 years or so. I am passionate about psychology and helping people get to the core of their issues, with a particular emphasis on helping people gain clarity with their own emotions. My knowledge of biology and evolution allows me to ground my psychological intuitions in reality.
